Toyota Recall - Gas Pedal Accelerator Attorney
Toyota and Lexus initially did a recall on millions of vehicles because of concerns of personal injuries, accidents or traffic fatalities as a result of pedal entrapment due to improper or out of place floor mats. The floor mats will cover the accelerator and not allow it to return to its normal non-accelerating position even after the driver’s foot is lifted. Vehicles in this recall include:
- Toyota Camry
- Toyota Avalon
- Toyota Prius
- Toyota Tacoma
- Toyota Tundra
- Lexus ES350
- Lexus IS250
- Lexus IS350
Shortly after this recall was announced, Toyota announced another recall. This time the issue is the accelerator or gas pedal sticking regardless of the floor mats in the vehicle. The accelerator will stick in a partially or fully depressed position and will not return or slowly returns to the idle position. This has lead to numerous traffic accidents and deaths throughout the U.S.
More than 6 million vehicles have at least one of the problems and at least 1.7 million vehicles have both pedal entrapment and pedal sticking. Vehicles in the most recent recall include:
- Toyota RAV4
- Toyota Corrolla
- Toyota Matrix
- Toyota Avalon
- Toyota Camry
- Toyota Highlander0
- Toyota Tundra
- Toyota Sequoia
