Criminal Defense
Client was a minor that was ticketed for minor in possession. An open bottle of alcohol was in the vehicle when the minor was pulled over by police. Case was dismissed.
Client was arrested for assault, interference with an emergency call, and terroristic threat. After posting bond, client retained the firm. Client was concerned not only because of possible jail time but also because client’s employer required security clearance. All charges were dismissed.
Client was arrested for assault and DWI and had prior criminal history. Assault was dismissed and DWI was reduced to reckless driving.
After a verbal and physical altercation with spouse, client was arrested for assault and terroristic threat. All charges were dismissed.

Business Law
Three individuals went into business together. After a few years, two of the individuals discovered that the third was using company property for improper, unapproved purposes. Retained by the two innocent individuals and successfully forced the third out of the business.
A large oil and gas company was attempting to detonate explosives on the clients’ property. Successfully prevented the oil and gas company from detonating the explosives.
Retained by a client that entered into a long-term lease, but now wanted out of the lease. Successfully enabled the client to get out of the lease without breaching the contract or incurring any financial responsibility for the remaining term.
Represented a builder of residential homes that was a defendant in a lawsuit where property owner and certain vendors were plaintiffs. Resolved pre-trial on terms favorable to the client.
Represented a manufacturing company that was approached to manufacture a certain product with significant revenue potential. Successfully drafted and negotiated agreements on terms favorable to the client that enabled the client to manufacture the product in exchange for cash and stock of the other company.
Client had performed various services for hotel chains in the Houston metro area and was not being paid for services rendered. Within ten days of being retained, client received payment in full from all hotel chains.
Client was under investigation by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Texas State Securities Board. Both cases resulted in no action being taken against the client.
Retained by a client that wanted to lease commercial space but was being forced to accept terms very favorable to the landlord and was getting nowhere in negotiation. Successfully negotiated terms favorable to the client including a shorter lease term and unilateral early termination for the tenant.
Client wanted to purchase a large piece of expensive equipment for a medical office. A dispute arose between the manufacturer and the client. Successfully negotiated an agreement where the client would keep the equipment and receive a substantial price reduction in exchange for foregoing litigation.
Client required assistance in starting a new business. Successfully formed the entity, procured financing for the client, located suitable space, and drafted waivers and other documentation to assist the client in the new enterprise.
Represented a client that had several hundred thousand dollars of his savings misappropriated by an unscrupulous investment adviser.
Successfully represented businesses and individuals in disputes with purchasers and sellers of real estate including their brokers.

Family Law
Client owned assets including a house, vehicles, retirement accounts, and significant cash savings. Client was engaged to an individual with little or no assets. Prepared documentation to protect the assets of the client after marriage.
Represented a client in an agreed divorce in which the spouse moved out of state. Our client received the new vehicle, checking accounts, savings accounts, and the retirement account. The unrepresented spouse received the older vehicle and a name change.
Client had been married for more than twenty years and had several adult children. Spouse was seeking a disproportionate share of the marital estate including the pension and retirement benefits. Successfully resolved the case in favor of our client. Client received 100% of pension and retirement.
Was retained by the mother in a heated child custody dispute. The mother had custody and the father was paying child support. The father now wanted custody and did not want to pay child support to the mother. After several contested hearings, the father and his attorney were forced to dismiss their case.
Was retained by a father in a contested divorce and child custody dispute. The mother wanted primary custody, the marital home, spousal maintenance, temporary support, attorney’s fees, and child support. After nine months and a trial, our client received primary custody, the marital home, and the mother was ordered to pay child support.
Was retained by the mother who was the primary bread winner in a contested divorce and child custody dispute. The father wanted primary custody, a geographic restriction, and wanted the mother to pay $3,000 per month in support. Instead, our client received primary custody of the children, was allowed to move with the kids more than 100 miles away, and the father was ordered to pay child support to our client.
Successfully represented a client in an agreed divorce in which the couple had substantial assets including four pieces of real estate in various counties.
Represented a mother in a termination of parental rights case in which the father molested at least two of the boys.
Personal Injury
Client was driving a car when a moving van failed to yield the right of way and pulled in front of client. Client’s vehicle smashed into the side of the moving van. Settled out of court in an amount favorable to client.
Client was a minor that was attacked by two dogs while riding client’s bicycle. Prior to being retained, a parent of minor approached dog owners who claimed that they were broke. Minor client was in need of plastic surgery for injuries and parents did not have medical insurance. Suit was filed and the case settled prior to trial in an amount favorable to client which provided for pain and suffering and future medical care.
Client was driving to work during rush hour and was rear-ended while exiting the beltway. Settled out of court in an amount favorable to client.
Client was broadsided in the galleria area when another vehicle ran a red light. Settled out of court in an amount favorable to client.
Client was riding a motorcycle when the driver of a vehicle failed to yield the right of way causing the client to lay down client’s motorcycle. Settled out of court in an amount favorable to client.
